The CMT UHP-15 is a billet AR-15 lower receiver machined from 7075-T6 aluminum. It has a Type III hard coat anodized finish in matte black for wear resistance. The lower features an oversized flared magwell for faster reloads and an integrated trigger guard.
Tolerances are held to ±0.005″ on critical dimensions. The lower is compatible with mil-spec AR-15 upper receivers and standard fire control groups. The ambidextrous bolt release and magazine catch require proprietary parts from Cross Machine Tool.
This is a serialized firearm component that requires FFL transfer. The lower ships with a threaded bolt catch pin and tensioning screw for upper receiver fitment. No additional tools are required for installation beyond standard armorer’s wrench and punches.
Jake Morrison’s shop notes
The CMT UHP-15 billet lower shows tight tolerances on the trigger pin holes, measured at 0.154" with pin gauges. Noted slight chatter marks on the inside of the magwell near the flare; may require additional smoothing for high-speed mag changes. Finish is uniform, but the integrated trigger guard radius is tighter than standard forged lowers—may interfere with gloves.
Tested: 4152 rounds bench-cycled. Pocket tolerance measured: within 0.0004″ on this batch. Weight (actual): 17.7 oz on shop scale. Units shipped from Phoenix in May 2026: 119.
