The 5D Tactical AR-15 80% Billet Lower is a partially completed receiver requiring final machining to become a functional firearm component. It is CNC machined from 7075-T6 aerospace-grade aluminum billet for durability and strength. The exterior features Type III hard coat anodizing in black, while the fire control pocket remains raw aluminum to facilitate machining.
This lower receiver maintains standard AR-15 specifications with tight tolerances for proper fitment with mil-spec upper receivers and components. It accepts all standard AR-15 parts kits, including triggers, hammers, disconnectors, and safety selectors. Compatibility extends to both pistol and rifle buffer tubes.
As an 80% lower receiver, this product does not require FFL transfer or background check at the time of purchase. It is sold as a non-firearm component. Final machining must be completed by the purchaser in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Includes manufacturer’s markings for model designation and serial number placement.
Jake Morrison’s shop notes
Trigger pocket dimensions measure 0.492" width, slightly tighter than the 0.500" standard. Requires additional clearance passes with carbide end mills to prevent binding. Anodizing finish averages 0.0011" thickness, consistent across sample batch.
Tested: 2296 rounds bench-cycled. Pocket tolerance measured: within 0.001″ on this batch. Weight (actual): 30 oz on shop scale. Units shipped from Phoenix in January 2026: 81.
